Boothbay Harbor, Maine Seasonal May - September 2026 Part-Time 20-35 hours weekly $20.00 hourly. This position is to support field monitoring of intertidal species and habitats. Start and end dates are flexible and position duration will depend on hours worked per week. This position will be based out of DMR’s Boothbay Harbor facility with regular vehicle travel to sampling locations. Field sampling will be conducted in mudflats and rocky shores with occasional boating operations. Work is tide-dependent and early mornings or late evenings may be necessary.

Weekly shellfish samples are collected by the Biotoxin Program and results are used to regulate the harvest of shellfish for public health. This position will collect, transport and process shellfish collected throughout the coast that will contract at the Maine Department of Marine Resources. Start and end dates are flexible for this position.

Department of Marine Resources $22.00 hourly May - September 2026 The Department of Marine Resources (DMR) Biotoxin and Water Quality Monitoring Program monitors shellfish and water samples along the coast of Maine. Weekly shellfish samples will be collected and analyzed for bacterial pathogens. The results will be used to gather background data within the state which will aid in regulating the harvest of shellfish for public health. One full-time seasonal position is needed to collect, transport and process shellfish collected throughout the coast that will contract at the Maine Department of Marine Resources. Shellfish will be processed for vibrio culturing and identification. Half of the time spent in this position will include field work collecting and transporting samples while the other half will involve laboratory methods for detection,

1 full-time seasonal position June - October 2026 $20.00 hourly Seeking to fill one full-time position. This position is to complete aquaculture inspections and other compliance reports that will contract at the Maine Department of Marine Resources. Start/end dates and work hours are flexible. This seasonal staff position will be based out of the Boothbay Harbor facility. Fieldwork includes travel to aquaculture site locations anywhere from Eliot to Lubec, Maine. This position will also completed office-related tasks with some remote work possible. Work is conducted Monday through Friday. Fieldwork may include early mornings or late evenings. Part-time $21.54 hourly The Department of Marine Resources (DMR) Bureau of Marine Science Lobster Program carries out fisheries monitoring surveys and conducts life history research on the American Lobster. Seeking to fill a field and technical position based out of Boothbay Harbor. This position will be responsible for field work coast-wide in the lobster program as well as data entry, data management, and maintenance of field and lab equipment. While not conducting field work, the employee is able to work remotely. Field work may require working on weekends.
