Delve into the world of artistic ingenuity as you craft your own masterpiece from a delightful grab bag filled with mystery objects and recycled materials. Drawing inspiration from the innovative works of Tom Jessen showcased in the captivating At Play exhibition at the Ticonic Gallery, unleash your imagination to fashion a one-of-a-kind sculpture. Utilize an array of fun cast-off parts sourced from wood shops, set pieces, plastics, and beyond to bring your vision to life. Let’s sculpt together and transform ordinary materials into extraordinary art!
Read Aloud Book: Crossings by Katy S. Duffield (Author), Mike Orodán (Illustrator), read to you by Waterville Public Library staff!

What is Art in the Park?
Waterville Creates, Waterville Public Library, and the Colby College Museum of Art have joined forces to offer dynamic, creative summer programming to provide arts experiences for all. Each Thursday participants at Art in the Park can listen as a book is read aloud and create art work based on that book or community theme.
Art in the Park is sponsored by Kennebec Savings Bank, City of Waterville, the Morning Sentinel/ Kennebec Journal, Allen Insurance, Surette Real Estate, and Colby Center for Arts and Humanities.
