“Waterville’s Railroad Station 1872-1963” will go through the life and death of Waterville’s railroad station; from its design by one of the most famous Boston architects, to its ultimate demise in the name of the automobile. The presentation will include copies of the original architectural plans, minor artifacts, unseen photos from private collections, and 3D models.

Peter Violette is a Waterville native and is now a rail engineer in the Boston area. He has an interest in railroads, architecture, and Waterville history. For the last 5 years he has been researching the history of the railroad station for his 3D models. In addition to the station research, he is also working on modeling College Ave in the 1950’s and documenting Waterville’s urban renewal projects.

Door opens at 6:00 p.m. for light refreshments and social time. Peter will present at 6:30. All are welcome; bring a friend. Admission is free; donations are gladly accepted.
